Dreaming of an escape that combines rich history, breathtaking natural wonders, and vibrant cultural experiences? Look no further! We’ve just launched an exclusive last-minute holiday package that whisks you away to the lesser-explored gems of South America: Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Prepare for an exhilarating 9-day journey that promises discovery, indulgence, and memories to last a lifetime.

Guyana: Where Nature Reigns Supreme and Flavours Explode!

Your adventure begins in Guyana, a land of untouched rainforests and captivating colonial charm. Settle into the historic Cara Lodge in Georgetown, a beautifully restored wooden colonial home that whispers tales of bygone eras and offers a romantic start to your trip.

Day one plunges you into the heart of Guyanese culture. Join culinary master Chef Delven Adams for an immersive tour of Bourda Market, a bustling kaleidoscope of local produce, exotic fruits, and fascinating bush medicine stalls. You’ll hand-pick ingredients alongside the chef before heading to his renowned Backyard Café for a private, multi-course lunch – a true farm-to-table experience like no other.

Day two is dedicated to a natural wonder that will take your breath away: Kaieteur Falls. Witnessing five times the height of Niagara Falls plunge into a deep gorge, surrounded by pristine rainforest, is an experience you’ll never forget. Keep an eye out for the tiny Golden frog that lives its entire life in giant tank bromeliads and the elusive Guiana Cock-of-the-rock.

Day three offers an early morning expedition along the Mahaica River to spot the unique Hoatzin, affectionately known as the “Canje Pheasant.” This fascinating bird with its spiky crest and unusual digestive system is a true marvel of nature. The afternoon brings optional explorations, from a serene Demerara River cruise at sunset, watching flocks of Scarlet Ibis return to their roosts, to an energetic Seawall street food experience, immersing you in Georgetown’s lively Sunday evening culture.

You’ll also visit the majestic Cathedral, the highest wooden building in the Western Hemisphere. The day concludes with a serene Sunset Dolphin Tour on the Suriname River, where playful dolphins often grace visitors with their presence, followed by a cultural walk through the Javanese village of Rust & Werk.

Day five takes you to the Commewijne district, exploring former colonial plantations and the fascinating Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, a strategically important fortress at the confluence of two major rivers. You’ll visit the recently installed nature park at Plantation Pepperpot, home to abundant birdlife and small rainforest animals. An optional dinner at the stylish Indonesian restaurant “Mirosso” offers a delightful taste of Suriname’s rich Javanese heritage.

French Guiana: European Charm in the Amazon Jungle
